I find few things more instantly gratifying than knitting for tiny humans.
And lucky for me I am surrounded by friends expecting babies 
I often knit tiny socks for new babies but I decided to try something new and started this set with some Woolies by Jenny Raymond (free Ravelry download). The pattern states that the fit is best for chunky babes and as I was knitting they seemed quite big even though my gauge was right. So I ended up starting over with just 32 stitches cast on, and I skipped using the elastic thread.
For the hat I used my favorite baby hat pattern and just reworked the i-cord, omitting the leaf to get the look I wanted. The pattern is the Greenleaf Baby Hat by Evelyn Uyemura.
