jar candles, top view

That is what I’m hoping these candles will provide.

A small gift for a very special friend’s birthday.

I have written about candle making before when I made some tea cup candles as Mother’s Day gifts. The process for these was the same except I used half pint mason jars instead of tea cups. The knitted cozy is a modified version of the Easy Candle Cozy pattern. I used some left over sport (or maybe dk) weight yarn that I know almost nothing about. I am pretty sure it is mercerized cotton and I remember buying it at Hobby Lobby. Sorry, I know that is not very helpful. I cast on 36 stitches on size 7 DPNs and followed the rest of the pattern as written. Then when I put the cozy onto the jars I gave them a little twist to make them look like they were knit on a bias.

This is what the cozy looks like right off the needles, kind of like a funny little hat 😉 .

Have a lovely week everyone!

Linking up with Linda!
